• I believe that getting your portrait taken doesn't have to be hard.  In fact, it should be a wonderful (even fun!) experience. 

• I believe that everyone deserves to have at least one picture of themselves (or many!) that they LOVE. 

• I believe that pictures should be printed and displayed so that you can enjoy the memories from that day again and again. 

Being a photographer feeds my creative side.  I love exploring and trying new things like shooting from different angles, finding interesting locations, and integrating contrast and vivid colors into my images.  I love connecting with the people I'm photographing.  It gives me such a high when I finish a session and I know that my client had a great experience.  Honestly, it feeds my soul.  

In 2005 I decided to "retire" from my interior design career and traded carpet samples and fabric swatches for a Canon camera.  I am so glad that I did.  Over the years I have photographed (and will continue to shoot) babies, families, personal branding, architectural/events and thousands of headshots, but my passion is high school seniors.  Seniors are at a special time in their life.  They are on the brink of independence.  They are leaving the familiarity of high school and moving on to new adventures.  It is a time to celebrate.  To document.  

With seniors we can dive deep and explore who they are by photographing them in a longer photo session.  It gives them time to get comfortable in front of the camera.  Comfortable with me.  Most seniors have some insecurities, as we all do.  I hope that when they see their images, they realize they are beautiful inside and out.  They are unique.  They are special.  The rest of us see it and I want them to recognize it, too.  

What I know for sure...

Getting your picture taken isn’t easy.  It’s MY job to get you to relax.  Because once you are comfortable and STOP thinking about everything (Where should I put hands?  Is my smile too big?  Does my hair look good?) THAT is when I get the natural and flattering shots, whether it’s for a family picture, a head shot or a senior session.

So, isn’t it time to record the moment?  Time doesn’t stop and the kids keep growing.  If we have learned anything from the pandemic it's that we don't know what will happen in the future.
